Golden Terminal gives your AI a controlled route to act in a real environment — not unlimited remote control. The hard boundary is the foreground session you connect and the permissions already present on that device.

Explicit connection

A device becomes available only after you start Terminal Mode and complete browser sign-in.

Your OS permissions

Golden runs in the current local user/process context. It does not silently elevate privileges or bypass operating-system permissions.

Foreground control

Keep the terminal open while you want access available. Close it or press Ctrl+C to disconnect the foreground runtime.

Approval-first workflow

For destructive or high-impact work, the safe workflow is inspect → explain → confirm → act. Golden does not expand permissions just to force an operation through.

Separated infrastructure

Your connected-device session is separate from Golden Terminal administrative infrastructure and never falls back into privileged product operations.

Ephemeral device access

Foreground Session Mode does not create a hosted machine inventory, and its session credential is not persisted by the foreground runtime.

Current hard boundary: connected foreground session + local OS permissions. The approval-first sequence is a workflow rule, not a separate per-operation enforcement layer.
